Marathi filmmaker Viju Mane, who gave the brilliant Khel Maandla recently, is currently working on two scripts – a humorous family entertainer and a political film. “The first one is titled Chuk Bhul Dyaavi Ghyaavi. The story deals with one of the many ways of living a happy life. I’m expecting to finish writing its first draft by October end,” Viju said.
“I’m also working on one more script, which will be a black comedy on the political system. It’s my dream project. It will be a big film with huge starcast. The film will definitely place me in the list of top-rank filmmakers,” said the confident Viju, .
Talking on Khel Maandla, Viju said Mr Narkar of Amruta Productions had heard around 40 stories from 14 writers but was still left searching for some good content. Later, Viju narrated his one-act play Kaun Sange Bandhe Dor. Narkar liked the concept and decided to start the film immediately. “When the film released, a few of my friends called and asked me to hear the huge applause the audiences were giving in cinema halls,” an emotional Viju shared his experienced.
He said he wanted to make films Rajkumar Hirani style. “Hirani is a master in suggesting best solutions to bigger and complex problems in a very interesting way. I like the way he make films. I consider myself as his disciple and would like to follow his path. I also like versatile filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who keeps changing the genre of his films with a great ease and entertain people,” Viju Mane added.
He said he would like to work with Jitendra Joshi and Mahesh Manjrekar as actors in his films. Among his favourite Marathi films, Viju named Simhasan, Deool, Zenda, Moraya and Shala.
