Writer-director Tejas Deoskar is currently busy with the post-production work of his next Marathi film, a love-story titled Premsutra. Citing a few media reports that it’s a bold film, Rang Marathi talked to the young filmmaker to know his first-hand views on the film.

Premsutra is a bold film subject-wise, not visually. We are witnessing a big change in our social lives. Today talking about sex is not considered as a taboo. Even during arranged marriages, people are not hesitating to ask openly about their to-be partner’s previous sex life. And this is not vulgar. This is in fact a progressive thinking. We have incorporated this changing attitude of today’s youth in Premsutra,” Tejas explained.

The filmmaker’s previous film Ajinkya, a sports film on the challenging life of a basketball coach, received good response from critics and the audience after its release in January this year.

Premsutra is a modern love-story that also speaks about our cultural values. It is about the upbringing of urban people, their ambitions, and the challenges they face in today’s fast pace of life. Premsutra is a realistic and progressive love-story for the audience of all ages,” Tejas elaborated.

Premsutra, starring actors Sandeep Kulkarni and Pallavi Subhash in the lead, releases across Maharashtra on 12April 2013.

“I’m working on a few scripts. I’m also getting some offers for Hindi movies. But I have not finalized anything yet. My next project will start probably in May 2013,” Tejas hoped.
