Nominations for MICTA films, theatre awards

Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Sunil Barve, Sushant Shelar and others at the nomination announcement ceremony of MICTA.

Marathi films Rege and Astu are leading the chart with 10 nominations each in the films category of Marathi International Cinema and Theatre Awards 2014 (MICTA) while Fandry and Lai Bhaari too have a close fight with eight nominations each. Similarly, commercial Marathi plays Aamhi Sau Kumud Prabhakar Apte and Mr & Mrs are fighting for dominance in the MICTA’s theatre category.

The award presentation ceremony of MICTA will be held in early November in London and Wales.

The MICTA Film and Drama Festival concluded recently at Kashinath Ghanekar Hall in Thane with the announcement of nominations in both the categories. Actor Sunil Barve announced nominations for theatre category while Sachin Khedekar declared nominations for film category. The event was attended by Mahesh Manjrekar from MICTA, Nitesh Rane from Maharashtra Kalanidhi, Sudhakar Chavan, Chandrakant Kulkarni, Rahul Ranande and Sushant Shelar.
