Filmmaker Nitin Kamble’s Marathi film Shirpa is all set to hit the screens on 14 October 2016. The film has been selected officially for IndieWise Film Festival and Wiper Film Festival.
Talking exclusively to RangMarathi, Shirpa’s director Nitin Kamble said, “It is the story about faith and superstition. A poor farmer couple is forced to leave their village and earn livelihood somewhere else. Having strong desire for a child, the woman falls prey to superstition and convinces her husband to do animal sacrifice in the name of god to fulfill their wish. However, they find themselves unable to sacrifice the innocent animal.”
Shirpa has versatile actors Milind Shinde and Chhaya Kadam playing the lead roles while Sunil Shirsat, Namrata Jadhav, Prem Kiran and Ravindra Berde include the remaining cast.
Shirpa has been produced by Prashant Mankar and Sunil Shirsat.
The film’s story has been written by B Gopinarayan while dialogues have been penned by Nitin Kamble. Cinematography has been done by Jigar Khan and Raviraj Singh, while Anand M Ram is the editor. The film will be releasing in over 100 theatres across Maharashtra.
